Help Us Raise Funds for ACTS and CASA

Help us raise funds to support Action in the Community through Service (ACTS) of Prince William County and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Prince William County by pledging a small donation for every mile team Occoquan-Prince William completes of the Belikin La Ruta May 2019 Belize River Challenge.  Begun in 1998 the Belikin La Ruta Maya is a grueling 3-person, 4-day, 170-mile canoe race along the Belize River from San Ignacio near the western border of Belize to Belize City on the country's Atlantic coast.  Today one of the longest canoe races in Central America, it draws professional and amateur paddlers from around the world.

The 2019 race will begin on March 8 and end on March 11.  Team Occoquan-Prince William's paddlers will consist of Occoquan Mayor Earnie Porta, ACTS Development Director Aaron Tolson, and MP Copiers owner Mark Yingling, supported by support and gear (SAG) vehicle operator Patrick King, owner of Imagine, Inc. and a CASA board member.

Consider supporting our efforts by pledging as little as 10 cents per mile.  Payment will not be due until after we finish the race and your entire contribution will go to support ACTS/CASA.*  If you are interested in pledging a contribution to support us, please click here and complete the online form with the appropriate information.  After pledging, you will, if you wish, receive regular updates leading up to and during the race.

Corporate Sponsors Welcome

Although Team Occoquan-Prince William is bearing all the travel and participation costs individually, we are also looking for corporate sponsors to help offset the costs of the race itself.  In particular we have the following  race sponsorship levels:

Race Sponsor (1) -- $200

Canoe Sponsors (2) -- $250

Vehicle Sponsors (2) -- $200

Race Lodging Sponsors (2) -- $250

Sponsors will receive recognition in a variety of ways, including prominent placement in our updates both leading up to and during the race on social media, as well as recognition on stickers, banners, and other materials used during the race itself.  If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please click here and complete the online form with the relevant information.  We will contact you to discuss your sponsorship.

*ACTS and CASA are both 501(c)(3) charitable organizations.  Pledge payments will be made out directly to those organizations and will be fully deductible as charitable contributions to the maximum extent permitted by law.
