The Occoquan Tourism Company

The DMVPA Race Series consists of 11 races in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania run by independent race organizers. Participants in the DMVPA Race Series accrue points based on their finishing positions in each of these races and at the end of the season the top three finishers in each race category will receive DMVPA Race Series awards. Categories in the series include Male and Female for SUP Open, SUP Masters (40-49), SUP Senior Masters (50-59), and SUP Golden Masters (60+); Male and Female for Kayak/Surfski, and; Male and Female for OC-1. To participate in the DMVPA Race Series individuals register and pay a $55 fee for which they will also receive a series T-shirt at the end of the season. In some instances, individual races may also offer entry fee discounts for DMVPA Race Series participants.

Note that for races that feature two distances (e.g. 5K and 10K), points will be assigned first to all the longer distance finishers and then to the shorter distance finishers. Races 5 miles and below will be considered shorter distance races and races above 5 miles will be considered longer distance races. The races that are part of the DMVPA Race Series are listed below. Please note that the organizers of the individual races are not in any way responsible for or affiliated with the DMVPA Race Series. It is also unlikely that many of the races will include all of the categories listed above, but the DMVPA Race Series organizer will attempt to assign points in those categories based on the information made available by race organizers (e.g., finishing position/time) and participants (e.g., age). In the event an individual race organizer does not make finishing position/time available, the DMVPA Race Series organizer reserves the right to exclude that race from the DMVPA Race Series.

3. June 21 - Paddle Round the Island - Williamsburg, VA

4. June 28 - East of Maui EYC Chesapeake Stand Up Challenge - Annapolis, MD

5. July 26 - Chesapeake Bay Paddle (excluding the 35 miler) - Chester, MD

6. August 3 - The Circumnavigation - Tilghman Island - Tilghman, MD

7. August 16 - B'More SUP Cup - Baltimore, MD

8. September 6 - Pohick/Occoquan Bay Race - VA

9. September 14 - Bay Bridge Paddle - Annapolis, MD

10. September 20 - Dam Bridge Challenge - PA

11. October 11 - NCA Minimental Small Boat Race - Washington, DC
